As a consultant, I have found the Feynman technique to be an incredibly effective tool for breaking down complex problems and developing solutions that are easy to understand and communicate to stakeholders.


This technique is particularly useful when working on projects that require significant transformational change within an organization.


To illustrate the power of this technique, let's consider a real-life example. Imagine that you have been hired by a manufacturing company that is struggling with low productivity levels.


The company's management has identified several potential causes for this issue, including outdated technology, inefficient processes, and a lack of employee engagement. Your role as a consultant is to identify the root cause of the problem and develop a plan to address it.


1️⃣ Set the Stage


The first step in applying the Feynman technique is to set the stage by defining the problem and identifying the key stakeholders. In this case, the problem is low productivity levels, and the stakeholders include company management, employees, and production staff. To set the stage, you would need to gather as much information as possible about the current situation, including data on productivity levels, employee engagement, and any other relevant metrics.

For example, you might develop a plan that includes upgrading the company's technology, implementing new production processes, and launching an employee engagement program.
