5 Ways to Conquer Your Fears !

This is a quote I read many years ago about the battle between the logic and the courage of listening to your heart.


It is impossible said the doubt

It’s dangerous said the fear

It’s unnecessary said the sense

Do it anyways whispered the heart

… and I did said the courage


If you're like most people, you probably equate courage with fearlessness, but that's a faulty interpretation. In fact, courage is taking action in spite of the fear you feel.


Courage is the willingness to respond fearlessly despite the anxiety and worry that might be tugging at you.


In fact, one of the best ways to be courageous is to understand what you're afraid of and then refuse to allow that fear to paralyze you. Because if you let it, fear has the power to stop you from moving forward, taking risks, and making the most of opportunities. Meanwhile, being courageous allows you to take chances, pursue your dreams, and get what you want out of life.


But it takes work to move beyond your fears. In fact, being courageous is about thinking things through, examining the risks and rewards, and acting in spite of the fear that inevitably sets in.

Here are some advice on how to become more courageous…


😱Embrace your fear. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Fearfulness is a learned behavior, based in our brain chemistry, but strengthened by the world around us that has trained us to be fearful. Learning to work through fear and step beyond it is about retraining your mind.

😰Try not to hesitate. Confronting your fear is about understanding the underlying reasons why you’re afraid in the first place. The longer your brain has to come up with excuses for not being courageous, the more time you will have to panic about hypothetical negative outcomes.

🧘‍♂️Learn to be mindful. Being mindful is when you are fully present in the current moment. Mindfulness can help change your brain to deal with fear in a more effective manner. Practicing mindfulness in all areas of your life means always staying grounded in the present moment.

🪂 Get outside your comfort zone. Doing something you don't normally do helps you cope with the unexpected, which is where fear often springs from.

👏Build confidence - trust in your abilities and yourself, and realize that you are more than your fears.


Don’t forget


The best way to become fearless is to put yourself in situations that intimidate you. Once you do them despite being afraid, fear will lose power over you.

When you learn how to live courageously, you’ll realize how much you were missing out on because fear was getting in the way.
